UDINE. “Le illustrazioni di Barbara Jelenkovich” è il titolo della mostra (curata da Daniela Gamberini) allestita a Palazzo Valvason Morpurgo (via Savorgnana 12 – Udine) e che sarà inaugurata il 4 dicembre (ore 18). La rassegna sarà visitabile fino al 12 gennaio 2014 con orario venerdì, sabato, domenica 15.00 – 18.00 (Apertura straordinaria: 26 dicembre 15.00 – 18.00). L’ingresso è libero.

QUATTRO MASCHERE PER IL TEATRO GIOVANNI DA UDINE

Queste sono le quattro maschere che ho progettato e realizzato nel 2011 per il Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine in occasione della mostra “Di segno in sogno: l’arte di Alberto Savinio”.
La mia preferita è il Gufo, sempre presente nell'arte di Savinio. 
I laboratori e le visite guidate erano a cura di Daniela Gamberini.

A BUSY AWAKENING

"A busy awakening", written by Giovanna Zordan and published by Gakken, Tokyo, 2003.
The book have been translated and published by Kyowon, Seoul, 2006;
Educational Technology Limited, Hong Kong, 2007 and 
Dolphin Media Hubei co. Ltd., China, 2007.

In 2007 these illustrations were used to make the cartoon “Toto the Hedgehog”, published  on DVD by Kyowon Jem Club, Seoul.

illustrAutori: Barbara Jelenkovich (1961):
Diplomata all’Istituto Statale d’Arte a Trieste e all’Accademia di Belle Arti a Venezia, in poco più di 25 anni ha ormai illustrato più di un centinaio di libri per ragazzi (tradotti in una ventina di lingue) tra cui alcuni davvero sorprendenti per effetti pop-up, tattili e addirittura luminosi.

Suo figlio è da sempre il modello per tutti i suoi bambini disegnati (“ma mio marito fa uno dei mestieri più amati dai bambini di tutto il mondo, il Comandante dei Vigili del Fuoco”, il che spiega anche la copertina del 2007 qui accanto...) e ha giustamente dichiarato che il suo lavoro le piace perché “sempre diverso nei soggetti da illustrare ma anche negli effetti pittorici da ricercare e sperimentare ogni volta”.

Sul web si trova il suo sito ufficiale (lodevolmente trilingue), un suo blog e la voce di Wikipedia, ma anche schede complete di biografia, pubblicazioni, immagini e gadget esclusivi con le sue creazioni, stampabili e realizzabili in casa.

Da una mostra antologica del 2007 è stata realizzato un profilo aggiornato in pdf, ben fatto e interessante. Un'altra esposizione è attualmente in corso al centro culturale Skerk di Ternova Piccola (TS).

Il suo “realismo magico” coinvolge bambini di ogni Paese, ma anche gli adulti non mancano di rimanere ipnotizzati da tante sue realizzazioni. Perché “il bambino è padre dell’adulto” (frase a effetto, ma vera, del celebre psicanalista René Spitz).
